For those wondering why I was delaying replies to e-mails, I experiences some technical difficulties with my laptop today - apparently one of my adapters is broken and won't charge the machine's battery, so it ran low and crashed even when I had it plugged it. Good thing I keep a spare around!
Anyway, it's all rectified now, so no worries!:D

I've completed those Space Marines that I've been displaying bits and pieces of before now. More pictures are up in the photo gallery, but here's the general gist of it:
Most of this project is Level 1-2. The Vcouts and Tactical Marines pictured are all Level 1 jobs, while the more elite troops like Veterans, Devastators, Assault Marines as well as the all of the vehicles are Level 2. Certain HQ models, namely the two Chaplains are Level 3.
Now I'm off to do some of those Starship Troopers Tyranids who have been sitting on my painting table for quite a while, as well as some Vampire Counts who are looking forlorn in their boxes. Stay tuned for some awesome pics of those models!

Hey guys, I just wanted to thank everyone for their support and understanding regarding the recent unfortunate circumstances with my father and his surgery. He got through the surgery with flying colors and is recovering better than expected, which is a huge relief!
As I said before, this whole fiasco has put my schedule back a couple of days - I am currently working on the Space Marines that I displayed earlier, and that project should be done by the end of the day today. After that I have a smaller Tyranid project to complete, which, with any luck, I should have done by the end of the week or the beginning of next week.
I haven't gotten a battle report this week - I played a couple of games but neither of them were lengthy or exciting enough to warrant putting into a report. I have a fully painted 2,250 point Beastmen list that is raring to go as soon as I find an opponent, so hopefully that will come pretty soon! The Grey Knights have been performing remarkably well so far - the army is 5-0-2 so far (that's 5 wins, no losses and two draws :D). Unfortunately the playstyle of the army is getting pretty grating - it is a very static force so not a lot of movement or tactics is required to play it. I plan to grab a Land Raider Crusader to make my Paladin squad into a more mobile assault force, which will be fun!
In other news - I am looking to get rid of a lot of my figures at this juncture, so pretty much everything you see on Battle Reports or on my site (barring terrain) will be for sale at some date in the future. This includes my Beastmen, Grey Knights etc. I also have a number of painted Dungeons and Dragons models that will be put up for auction fairly soon. If anyone is interested in these, feel free to contact me!

I know I've been going on a lot about stepping up the speed with which I complete project recently, but this week that looks to be a little difficult.
My father is going into some very complex surgery pretty soon to solve a life-threatening problem, and this week my schedule has revolved around that, rather than modelling. I've gotten a few figures done here and there, but I haven't made significant progress. ![]()
Again, I'm really sorry if this disrupts anyone's projects too much! I promise I'll step on the gas next week!

I've been working on a bunch of Space Marines lately - mainly Ultramarines and their associated doodmanz. There is also some marines from a custom chapter in there as well - the "Storm Lions." I've mainly been focusing on the Ultramarines side of the project for the time being, so that's all I have at the moment.
I looked over what I got for trade for the Grey Knights army; the complete list as it stands now looks something like this:
1 Grand Master w/ Stormbolter and Nemesis Force Sword
1 Librarian w/ Stormbolter and Force Staff/Warding Stave
1 Paladin Apothecary w/ Nemesis Force Sword
1 Terminator w/ Stormbolter and Nemesis Force Halberd
1 Terminator w/ Psycannon and Nemesis Force Halberd
1 Terminator w/ Psycannon and Nemesis Falchions
1 Terminator w/ Incinerator and Nemesis Force Sword
1 Terminator w/ Incinerator and Nemesis Falchions
1 Terminator w/ Stormbolter and Nemesis Falchions
1 Terminator w/ Stormbolter and Brotherhood Banner
1 Terminator w/ Stormbolter and Daemonhammer
1 Terminator w/ Stormbolter and Nemesis Force Sword
2 Power-Armored Justicars w/ Stormbolters and Nemesis Force Halberds
1 Power-Armored Justicar w/ Stormbolter1 and Nemesis Force Sword
8 Power-Armored Grey Knights w/ Psycannons
14 Power-Armored Grey Knights w/ Stormbolters and Nemesis Force Swords
1 "Inquisitor" w/ Power Sword (an Infinity model, pics to come when she's painted)
The army runs about 1,500 points as it stands. I plan to purchase Lord Kaldor Graigo, a Dreadknight and a Land Raider Crusader to top it all off, but that's it for this army. I hope to get some more models painted before this weekend, but we'll see what happens.

I've had more time to work on projects recently, so I figured that I should start posting a little more regularly on this blog to update my faithful readers on my progress.
I've got some Space Marines on the table that I'm working on currently, and then some Tyranids after that. With any luck I should be able to have significant progress completed on those within the next week or so, so stay tuned!
In other news, I've gotten a Grey Knight army made out of those pretty new plastics as a prospective sale army - originally I bought a Librarian, 20 power armored grey Knights and 5 Terminators (it makes about 1,000 points), but I just received another six Terminators and a Purgation squad armed with Psycannons on trade. The plan is to make up 10 Paladin Terminators so that I can have all the options - 1 w/ a Daemonhammer, 2 Psycannons, 2 Incinerators, an Apothecary, Brotherhood Banner and some additional melee weapon options. I'll probably only ever run 5 in a game (10 seems like overkill), but they've kicked ass so far so we'll see how my list ends up.
Check out the picture above for the preliminary models for that army; I've gotten the Librarian and a Strike Squad finished up so far.
And remember - the plan is to make this a sale army, so if someone is interested in it let me know! You can dictate what you want me to add to the army if you do plan on purchasing it, additionally.

Games-Workshop just revealed its planned release for a new expansion for Warhammer Fantasy - Storm of Magic. They're promising 'cataclysmic spells' and effects that change the way the tabletop affects models.
I couldn't help but realize that this sounds very much like the change between 7th Edition Fantasy and 8th Edition. Well, minus the annihilation of effective cavalry in the game as well as a drastic change in most of the tactics. I'm pretty sure that the last thing this game needs is more stupidly powerful magic spells and complex terrain rules.
I talked with one of the members of my local gaming club about where 8th Edition Fantasy went wrong - don't get me wrong, I love Fantasy to death, but there's something about it that just makes it more goofy than a tactical wargame. We figured that the magic system, while certainly flawed, was an excellent mechanic that works well. What breaks the magic system are spells like Purple Sun and Comet of Cassandora, spells with the ability to easily wipe out entire units without breaking a sweat.
I've gotten to the point where I will not play a friendly game with someone if they decide to take either of those spells. Removing an entire unit a turn from a 15+ spell is not exactly what I consider fun.
Where 8th Edition falls down in another respect is the charge distance allowed by the new rules. While the random charge distances are cool (the fact that a unit could charge exactly the same distance every time seemed weird to me), but a range of 6-16" for a normal infantry unit is enormous. I think the mechanic would be better suited for a distance like D6+2+move", which makes it random but with a larger degree of certainty and significantly less range.
The third change that I'd like to see is the removal of steadfast if a unit is Disrupted. This would make flanking enemy units and actually maneuvering one's forces much more useful!
That was a pretty serious digression from the main topic...
So anyway, I have little faith that this new expansion will be something to write home about - the only other memorable expansion that GW has produced was Apocalypse back in the day and everything else have been flops since then, but here's to hoping for some cool terrain and new models!

This past week has been pretty slow going - real life has been busy and due to my aforementioned shipping problems I've been without necessary supplies for quite some time. That should all be rectified by now, though, and I'll be back on track in no time. In fact, I think that I'll have more time to spend on projects than ever!
I received some Grey Knights for a sale army that will be available pretty soon. Because of the small size of the force the army should be a breeze to paint - I hope to also have some battle reports with the new list up in the coming weeks.

Sorry it took so long - the new price changes are online for those who are looking for new projects. Check out the price guide for the changes in their entirety.
Basically a lot of the lower level painting costs have increased with some changes to make the entire pricing system a little more intuitive. All assembly costs (including magnetization) have also been increased.

I've been up all night with a cold and a sore throat. Lame. It's like 4:00 where I am right now... A.M. Blarg. ![]()
I had a little bit of a shipping backup with my supplier and I have a shipment of paints and minis for some projects that has been delayed about a week. I should get them next week but unfortunately that is interfering with my painting schedule, so it might delay some projects. Sorry about that!
I'll post changes to prices and things up as soon as I have the chance!
