Trevy's Painting Table

Cheap and Easy Commission Painting for all Model Wargames

Trevy's Painting Table

TAB 2 - 30,000 points of Apocalypse

Posted by Trevy the Great on July 26, 2011 at 7:57 AM Comments comments (0)

Every year I run a giant Apocalypse game for local players called TAB, short for Trevy's Apocalypse Bash.  This event is desgined to be fun, narrative based game where players can bring all of their models and spend the day playing Warhammer at no cost.

This is the second year that I ran this event and I'm happy to say that we topped last year's showing by quite a bit.  While least year we counted 26,000 points of models on the table, this year we upped the ante to 30,000!

While we didn't do a model count, I would be surprised if it was too much lower than 1,000 models on the table.

If you guys were wondering where my posts had gotten to - there's your answer!  I was too busy building terrain and repairing models!

Anyhoo, here's an awesome vidrep for you!

Crazy for Cryx!

Those who watch my YouTube channel know that I have started doing Warmachine batreps in my "Trevy's Batreps" series.  I figured that I'd show you guys some of my awesome Cryx while I'm at it.

This is just basically going to be a pic-dump.  If you want more in-depth information on the models, check out my Photobucket account.

There you have it!  I hope you enjoyed!

All Done!

Following up the WiP post I put up last time - here's the finished product!

There he is; Shas'o R'alai just hangin' out on is very own destroyed pillar, chillin' an' shootin' the breeze.

But what would a heroic Tau commander be without his drone buddies?

These guys are a sweet conversion that the client asked for (so I really can't take any credit).  Obviously they're made from a Warhammer 40k small blast template stuck to a gun drone body to represent the shield.

All the drones are Level 2 while the battlesuit himself is painted to Level 4.  They all include scenic basing and assembly.

In other news; this will be my last commission project for some time seeing as I am not taking new projects at the moment.  I may or may not do some really small local projects to pass the time but nothing too large or in depth.

I'm going to be focusing more and more on personal projects and sale armies that I'll be selling off.  The Beastmen army that has featured in so many of my Warhammer Fantasy batreps is almost complete and will be sold off in the coming weeks.  If anyone is remotely interested, please let me know sooner rather than later!

I am also running my second annual Trevy's Apocalypse Bash event - a large Warhammer 40,000 Apocalypse battle that I'm trying to run every year.  I recently acquired a bunch of old children's toys that, with an appropriate paint job, should work as terrain - so stay tuned for updates on that front.  That event is happening a week from today, so it's coming up pretty quickly!

WiP

I love the word 'WiP.'

It reminds me of "Cool Whip" or "Whipped Cream," things that taste really yummy!  Yay!

Well, here's a "WiP" for you; I'm sorry its not sugary goodness but it's pretty close, in my opinion!

Well, it's here, the moment you've all been waiting for!

Well, I've been waiting for it, at least. :D

That's right, folks, the Vampire Counts army is done!  Yay!  Here are some awesome pictures!  (As always, more pictures are available in the Photo Gallery to the left).

There's a sampling of all of the awesome models in this army.  Clocking in at 174 models, this is one of - if not the - largest project that I've completed to date.  A pretty awesome way to send off this season's painting, I think. :D

I'm going to be away this weekend so I will not be able to respond to messages or work on current projects.  Sorry folks!

Here are some pictures of the Vampire Counts project to sate you - this project is finished so I hope to have some final photos by this afternoon.

For all those who have the misfortune of living in America and who understand what this holiday means - happy Independence Day to you all!

For those who do not like in the wonderful US and who want to know the meaning of this event, it is this; Independence Day celebrates American's propensity for unhealthy eating, obscenity and public drunkeness.

Also, it is a day that we set aside to fight aliens.  That is the most important part.
